The Tampa Bay DAO is bringing community, connection, and NFT resources to the Synapse Summit at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL on February 17th for a full-day immersive experience.
Synapse Summit is a yearly conference that focuses on entrepreneur innovation, specifically in the tech industry. The agenda features speakers and topics that are designed for the risk-takers, the doers, the creators, and the innovators.
Synapse and TBD
With the incredible growth of the Tampa Bay tech community and this area ranking 6th in the country for migration of tech workers, Synapse Summit is sure to be the event of the year.
Enter Tampa Bay DAO (TBD) onto the scene. In the last few months, TBD’s member count has grown at a rapid pace (who knew there were that many curly heads and man buns in Tampa Bay) and continues to do so. Synapse Summit is an exciting opportunity for TBD to create awareness of what the current Tampa Bay tech community is up to while making connections for those interested in plugging in to TBD’s community.
Pocket Network, which is a powerhouse Crypto Infrastructure that is bringing innovation to the Crypto sace, is sponsoring TBD’s booth at the event. The goal of the booth will be twofold – taking users on a journey on how they can mint their very own NFT as well as information on how to join TBD and get involved in the many exciting events that are unfolding.
Who/What is the TBD?
We are free agents, developers, artists, and innovators who work out of local coffee shops and kava bars.
And if you’re not sure what a “DAO” is, then don’t worry.
Here’s the quick version:
DAO stands for Decentralized Autonomous Organization. DAOs are member owned communities without centralized leadership. Meaning. that it’s an organization filled with individual contributors who work together towards a single mission.
We’re very similar to a Co-op, but we use the blockchain to coordinate.
Kind of like the infamous Hacking group “Anonymous”, who is a decentralized group of individual hackers known for hacking government websites and revealing information for the good of the public. Except the individual contributors of the Tampa Bay DAO collaborate together on projects that will grow the local Tampa Bay Community with a focus on NFTs and Cryptocurrency.
NFT’s, Say What?
You’ve probably heard the term and maybe even got a glimpse of a NFT on a social platform. But, you still may be scratching your head and asking the same question, “So, what a NFT, again?”
Simply put, NFT stands for Non-fungible token. Even simpler, non-fungible means that it is unique and can’t be replicated by anything/one thats not the indended owner or buyer. The NFTs currently being included are digital art such as drawings, videos, and music.
Since the technology is relatively new, the opportunity for local artists and creatives to enter this space at ground level is incredible. NFTs are being termed as the evolution of fine art collecting. And the market is responding in kind with NFT purchases ranging from six to seven figures for one piece of art.
For artists, this presents not only a new way to promote and sell your art but a way to leverage your art to create a unique utility(or access) for those who possess it. For collectors, this presents an opportunity to support creatives by purchasing art with a blockchain entry.
TBD’s Focus on NFT’s
At Synapse, TBD’s booth will be the go-to spot for artists to learn how to mint their own NFT through the Solana blockchain. Solana is the NFT standard and minting program that offers extreme customizability, with ecosystem-wide support.
The good news is, you can have little to no knowledge about NFTs to visit the booth(in fact we encourage it!). TBD will walk you through the minting process and answer any questions you have in real-time. This is beneficial for artists, buyers, and the curious. There will also be some example NFTs on hand, as well.
The excitement surrounding the emerging technology surrounding NFTs isn’t centralized to the tech community alone. Local Tampa Bay businesses are jumping on board as well and partnering with TBD.
Booth visitors at Synapse (or may not)will also receive a special digital key to receive private access to upcoming NFT events and special events. Want to know more about it? Come to our meetup and find out!
Attending Synapse Summit is a great way to immerse yourself into all things tech and innovation in Tampa Bay. It’s also a great way to meet current TBD members and visit our booth.
If you can’t catch us there, make sure to join the waiting list. This will give you access to our exclusive Discord channel and information on meetups and events.
Expect to talk about Crypto, NFT’s, Coinbase, free agency, and other information topics that serve to connect the group to one another and the Tampa Bay community.
Most of TBD’s members hang out and work together in coffee shops, kava bars, co-working places and pretty much anywhere else with decent Wi-Fi in the Tampa Bay area.
